    Cheap Cars Video

Many people treat cars like a status symbol.  Everyone has heard of the celebrities with massive collections of expensive cars, or custom built garages to accommodate their cars in the heart of an expensive city like New York.  A better option could be an inexpensive car for some.  Poor quality doesn’t necessarily follow cheap price.  Less costly can still be exciting to drive.

Buy a used car if you want to save some cash.  Second hand luxury models are cheaper than new.  A new term has emerged over the last decade, pre-owned – to denote used cars that are of high quality.  Pre-owned cars have pulled some new car lovers into the used car world.  Consider top model cars.  A Mercedes or Lexus is so well built that even 10 year old cars can still be in excellent condition.  In fact, many people have generations of car buyers in their family who always purchase higher end models that are used. This was immortalized in Driving Miss Daisy when the driver bought Miss Daisy’s old cars.

Some cheap new cars are quite nice, too.  The Hyundai Elantra is a quality car under $12,000.  A well engineered car like the Honda Civic is only around $15K.  That car lasts a long time, and gets great gas mileage.  Luxury cars that need premium fuel and parts are generally more expensive to maintain too.

Try the cheaper, not really cheap, luxury cars.  Audi makes luxury cars that compete with Mercedes and Lexus, but generally at the lower end of the price spread for like models.  Audi boasts the top engineered cars in the world, bar none.  This includes the Audi TT which, while not exactly cheap, is a very nice sports car with a lot of power and speed.

Some people mean really cheap when they say cheap.  They turn to the clunker, the hooptie, the ancient model car that was probably old when their parents first bought a car.  Teenagers often purchase such a car as their first vehiclePeople often purchase such a car as a first vehicle for a teen.  It’s a set of wheels, and it gives them practice for a life time of practical mechanical knowledge.  What you see is what you get, even with cheap cars.  A car that constantly breaks down is no bargain at any price.

Need to buy a used auto online, but are unsure of how to get started? The Internet is a big place, and has numerous resources for used car buyers, but you need to know where to look to find the best deals.

First of all, you can find used car listings on your local newspapers website. These are nice, because they are all typically sellers in your local area which makes it easy to stop by and take a test drive, which is critical for getting the best possible deal on a used car.

Stepping out a little more, you can check online classifieds sites, such as Craigslist, which will expose you to a broad range of sellers, many of whom will be near you, though not to quite the same extent as a news paper might. These sites can be gold mines, though, so be sure to give them a look.

If you’re looking to broaden your scope further, try sites like eBay Motors, which brings sellers from all over the country into one convenient location. These listings are both auction format and fixed price, so you have multiple buying options. These sellers will be located all over the country, but you can search for listings that are in your area. To make things better, you can also prevent scams by using eBay's basic buyer protection. Something worth investigating, for sure.

If you’re looking at a very specific model of used car, try search on car enthusiast forums. For example, if you want to buy a late '80s Nissan Z car, then visit some Z car forums to find sellers. Buying from these sorts of sellers can be great, because they are often very knowledgeable and passionate about the cars. You will be able to get a really good idea as to the condition of the car if you go with a seller like this.

There are many other places to find used cars online. As it turns out, many sites offer car listings. However, the places I’ve listed above have the highest amount of listings, and are thus the most “bang for your buck” locations for buying a used car online.

As always, be careful when shopping online. Don’t throw away your common sense, and make sure that you’re getting a good car at a fair price. If you do your research, check multiple sources for pricing, and check the car over thoroughly for buying, you can certainly buy used cars online and get great deals for it.
