Property Successfully sold by Michael Jones Estate AgencyWho can remember the work involved in finding a new home in the days before the internet? Those were the days when estate agencies had to earn their commission by keeping prospective buyers informed of all potentially suitable properties that came onto their books. Prospective buyers would spend their weekends trawling around estate agencies in the regions of interest in the hope that they would stumble upon their dream home.

Online property search tools have done away with all of that work. Facilities such as the excellent Zoomf or this facility at home.co.uk enable prospective buyers to locate potentially suitable homes from their computers, whilst at home or at work.

Whilst some of these search tools perform searches of the databases of many estate agencies it is still worthwhile tracking down the websites of estate agencies in the region of interest and then taking advantage of their own on-site search tools. For example, Michael Jones estate agency in West Sussex provide residential property throughout the West Sussex region. If you are looking for a Worthing property or a home in this region it therefore makes sense to pay a visit to their excellent website and make use of their online property search tool.

Using the service provided by a local estate agency, based in the region that you are interested in, makes complete sense as you can be sure that the the search results will present only properties in the region of interest. So, if you are looking for a one bedroom flat, a two bedroom bungalow, a three bedroom house or maybe a barn conversion, take the time to locate the websites of the local estate agencies and let your computer do the walking.

  2. Thanks for the nice comments about our property search engine, Zoomf. We will soon be rolling it out to the whole of the UK. As a totally independent company, we aim to help both house hunters and all estate agents. Quite a lot of people are using Zoomf already and we just love feed back to help us improve the product

  3. I reckon one of the biggest advantages to househunting online is the time saved. Massive amounts of it! OK, you still need to go and look at propeties before you decide to buy. But now it takes a fraction of the time to build a ‘finalists’ list for viewing, which used to involve endless weekends and evenings driving to far-flung estate agents. If you were moving to another part of the country, you had to practically take a holiday. Now, the only problem is getting RSI from excessive mouse activity!

It’s a shame that most conveyancing solicitors haven’t caught on to the internet yet - imagine how much easier and faster it’d be if you could transfer documents by email rather than letter and post.

  4. i feel , everything should not be computerized , this will make our lives more dependent on the machines.

  5. very interesting. i’m adding in RSS Reader
