April 25th, 2009TechnologyA very basic form of communication is the phone. About everyone you meet has a phone and everyone uses a phone pretty much daily. It doesn’t matter if you use a telephone for your business or personal needs, the phone plays a vital part in your life.
As an owner of a small business, you probably depend on the phone as a primary means of communication. It is important that your business telephone system is working with you, not fighting you at every turn.
A phone system for small business works in conjunction with your current phone lines to greatly improve the features of your current business telephone service. A small business PBX phone system gives you a telephone system that functions like that of a large corporation, at a price that every small businesses can afford.
By using one or more toll-free or local main phone numbers, a PBX phone system receives an incoming call using a virtual auto attendant, or virtual secretary, and then routes the calls to the relevant employees or departments. A virtual PBX service also comes with fully customizable voicemail and Internet faxing abilities, which gives you one very powerful phone service.
With prices beginning at under $10 each month, a small PBX will give your small business a leg-up on your competition by making your business act like a much bigger company. And with the capability to transfer incoming phone calls to any working phone located anywhere in the world, a virtual phone system gives your current telephone service much greater adaptability than what it already has.
If your company depends on the phone as a important communication tool, you really need to investigate how a small business PBX phone system can improve your productivity. Take advantage of the risk-free trial periods that are offered by most virtual telephone services and find out how one can improve your small business.

April 23rd, 2009TechnologyI have been suffering of late suffering from a frustratingly slow and unreliable computer in fact I have been getting so annoyed with it of late that I bought the issue up in a conversation in a local bar. The man I was moaning to was Bryan a good friend of mine and total computer nerd. I told Bryan of the issue and asked for his help picking a new computer. Bryan took some time to ponder my query and while stoking his beard stated “I don’t think you need a new computer”. I reiterated to Bryan that I really did after all my computer was running very slowly and was annoying me to such an extent that I have genuinely considered destroying it with a house hold implement. In fact I was a little mad with Bryan for not recognizing my pain. Bryan did however go on to explain further and said “I believe you are suffering from Windows registry errors”. Bryan could have been talking dutch for all i understood of what he was saying although I guess it would make sense to people who know about computers. Trying to avoid looking silly I made the decision to carry on as if I knew what he was talking about “I see” I replied. By this time Bryan had obviously noticed from the distant look in my eyes that I really had no idea what he was talking about. He took out a pen and paper and scribbled upon it the name of a web site fix-this-computer. He then went on to explain that I should visit this site and look under the Fix Windows Registry Errors section and from this I should select an option for a free registry scan which would identify and registry errors present on my computer and after this would give me the option to repair them. I took his advice and now my computer works a treat, cheers Bryan.

April 22nd, 2009TechnologyIts safe to assume that the probelm of a slow computer is one which many people have so I ahve written this guiide of how I fixed mine to help people to fix it. So to begin with lets take a look at what was actually going wrong with it. Well over the years the performance of my computer had dropped off slowly but significantly. The computer took a lot longer to boot up now than it had done and program's now crashed a lot showing the message "this program is not responding".
I had of course thought about replacing the computer but this seemed to me like an expensive option epically as I was not trying to do anything which the computer had not been capable of in the past. So I began to search the Internet for a solution and I came across www.fix-this-computer.com a web site offering advice on getting the most out of your computer. I took a good look around the site and tried the virus checker and the spy ware checker. These scans didnt find anyhting but then i cam across the section of the web site about windows registry errors. From reading the text I could tell that the symptoms that were described were the same as mine so I decided I had windows regsitry errors. I visited the the link offering a free scan and was directed to a software site where I downloaded software that scanned my computer for registry errors. The scan took about twenty minutes and found a staggering 307 errors. I purchased the software and when I did this I was given a password to upgrade my trial version which I had downloaded. Using the software was simple and it was quickly scanning my computer for errors. It took the software ten minutes to repair the registry errors and since it did my computer has ran like new.
