August 5th, 2009campingSummer is allegedly here, althogh the weather may make you think otherwise. Myself and my family always try to get away for at least a couple of weekends camping in the summer but each time we go there is always something we forget.
Here is a brief list of a few essential pieces of camping equipment that we have forgotten in the past, but hopefully will not forget in the future.
Bug Repellant: Forgetting to take some sort of insect repellant can turn an otherwise fun weekend away into a mosquito bitten nightmare. We like to take some effective insect repellant along with one of those electronic devices that keeps insects at bay.
Spare Torch Batteries: Last year we had two torches with flat batteries the first evening outdoors. This year we are equipped with a couple of wind-up torches as well as some spare batteries for our head torches.
Fire Stick or Lighter: This may seem obvious, but we aren’t smokers so we don’t naturally carry lighters. A camp fire is all part of the fun of camping so make sure that you have some means of starting a fire. My favourite device is a Fire Stick. The children love to start the fire with this simple device as it makes them feel like Bear Grylls.
Reference Books: My wife and I are pretty good at identifying plants, birds and animals, but we aren’t experts. In recent yearss, ever since the children started to ask lots of questions, we have started to take a couple of good reference guides, one on birds and another on plants, so that we all learn something while enjoying our camping trip.
Binoculars: Not really an essential I suppose, but our new Maushaus binoculars have certainly opened our eyes to the countryside around us. The children in particular love to zoom in on the wildlife we spot with our new binoculars. A great addition to our camping equipment list.
So, hopefully we’ll not leave any of these things behind the next time we venture into the great outdoors.

April 28th, 2009TechnologyWithout professional advice, the average customer faces a big challenge when picking up a computer, an electronic device or any form of accessories, since he or she lacks the technical background to support the choice. For example, in the PC domain, the latest developments have been so numerous and advanced that even people who do have a clue about computers and their features, might be at a loss about what purchase to make. With the impressive multitude of companies and products, it is only natural to try and come up with tops and classifications to identify the best notebooks on the market. A buyer who is determined to search for a right product, should go through a pretty wide range of best computer tops so as to have an idea which is the upper reference point.
Where does the information that classifies computers come from?Again, in an automated world which is interconnected by means of electronic systems and devices, the answer is obvious: search the Internet. There are incredibly many web pages which belong to different manufacturers and sellers that are teeming with best notebooks classifications meant to influence the buyers’ decision. There are sites specialized in reviews of computers and laptops and the necessary accessories as well. The site collaborators are either experts in the field and you can trust the information they provide, or they are amateurs who make reviews after performing researches in their turn.
There are well reputed sites that provide accurate best notebooks categories and the main suggestions would go for laptopical.com, pcworld.com, ZN Net Australia, reviews.cnet.uk, laptopreviewsonline, laptopmag.com, or reviews.cnet.com, but the list could go on. Anyway we need to pass the warning once more that you do not trust reviews written by people without technical expertise for support.
So as to strike a great deal, do not overlook the importance of the capacity or technical features when reading best notebooks reviews. Usually, the serious and well documented sites that sell or review computers also, offer you details regarding the size, design, graphics, price and battery life. Besides, you will also be given information regarding the productivity performance, keyboard comfortability, touchpad use, the number of USB ports, the peculiarity of the operating systems, the hard drive speed and size and so on and so forth. Always deal with the best so as not to be disappointed!
